About the CSP Exam
The Certified Safety Professional (CSP) examination is the second-level examination in BCSP's two-test certification process, following the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) exam. It is a computer-delivered test spanning five and one-half hours with 200 questions, assessing applied knowledge and the application of experience gained through professional practice. Both the ASP and CSP exams are administered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
Eligibility
Applicants typically need a college degree and four years of professional safety experience. The exam is demanding — historically, first-attempt pass rates for the related ASP exam have been around 50%, underlining the value of structured, workshop-based preparation.
